The Results With Lucy & UNiDAYS Fitness Event

If you’re a regular reader of ‘The Gem Agenda’ then you might have read my ‘New Year, Improved Me‘ post back at the beginning of January about how after finding out I had Coeliac Disease I wanted to make a conscious effort to be an even healthier version of myself. That meant holistically – food, fitness and mind. I wanted to eat better, exercise more and ultimately be a healthier and happier me. So when I received an email asking if I wanted to attend a Results with Lucy and UNiDAYS fitness event I couldn’t wait and hoped it’d be the perfect start to my new and improved lifestyle…

Arriving at the setting for the event – the super trendy UNiDAYS HQ in Nottingham, left me feeling so excited for the day ahead but at the same time slightly nervous. Thankfully, all nerves vanished as we walked up to the top floor of the building and were greeted by Lucy, her personal trainer Cecilia and nutritionist Louise. They, along with the UNiDAYS team, were all very down to earth and welcoming. Throughout our time at the event we were treated to a nutrition talk and a workout, followed by lunch.

The nutrition talk with Louise was so refreshing and I found myself nodding in agreement to all of what was said.

Louise stressed that when she talks about the term ‘diet’, she means a healthy balanced diet where no food groups are excluded. That means that unless you have a valid reason why you can’t have a certain food (like me with Coeliac Disease which prevents me from eating gluten, for example) then your diet should be well-rounded and include foods from all of the five food groups. You should listen to your body and shouldn’t be excluding carbs or jumping from one fad diet to another.

During our nutrition talk we also heard about how with the Results with Lucy plan there’s an eating out guide which allows you to make healthier food choices whilst out socialising with friends. I thought this was a brilliant idea as there’s nothing worse than feeling so restricted when it comes to food, especially when it impacts your social life and leaves you feeling isolated. I know first hand how hard that can be.

After our nutrition talk we headed over to another section of the UNiDAYS offices with beautiful exposed brickwork, bright colours dotted everywhere and copper pipe lighting hanging above the kitchen area. Whilst we found our bright pink mats I felt really excited about the full body 30 minute workout we were about to do and could feel the positivity beaming out of me from the no nonsense nutritional approach the team at Results with Lucy have.

Cecilia’s bubbly personality really shone through during the workout and she was incredible at motivating us all with a varied selection of leg, arm and ab exercises as well as pushing us to carry on throughout the session with her energetic approach and plenty of praise.

With our tummies rumbling after our fun but challenging and easy to follow workout, we sat down to have some lunch and chatted away to Lucy, Cecilia and Louise before leaving the UNiDAYS HQ with a big smile on our faces and feeling so positive and inspired.

I had such a fantastic time at the Results with Lucy x UNiDAYS event and it was lovely to meet Lucy and her team and learn more about the Results with Lucy programme.
