I’m going to put it out there, I love Rosie Huntington-Whitely. There I said it. Ever since she’s been a Victoria Secret Angel, and even before that, I’ve been a fan. Then she did the Transformers film a few years ago and *swoon* I wanted to be her. Fast forward to now and she’s got a lingerie, sleepwear, perfume and now a makeup range with M&S, and they’re all absolutely gorgeous. I just love her, she’s so inspiring, gracious and down to earth but so so lovely and not to mention absolutely beautiful.
So it’s no surprise then that I had to get my hands on a few items from her makeup range in an attempt to morph myself into Miss Huntington-Whitely herself. Of course that’s never going to happen but with Rosie’s makeup range I’d like to give it a good try. I have to admit that Rosie’s makeup is without fail always so lovely and if my makeup looked even slightly on par with hers then I’d be happy.
So a few weeks ago I hopped on over to the Marks and Spencer website, excessively adding almost every item in Rose’s range into my online basket. Then after deciding that was perhaps a bit too OTT in case I wasn’t keen on the range in person or after testing it out I settled for the Copper Gold Rush Eyeshadow Quad and Rose Lace Lipstick. Why? Because Lisa Eldridge’s video featuring none other than Rosie herself made me do it. Watch the video if you haven’t already and you won’t blame me for it.
I needn’t have worried about not liking the products though because they’re an absolute dream to use and the shades in the eyeshadow palette itself along with the lipstick colour are lovely too. Also, can we just take a minute to appreciate how stunning the copper coloured packaging is? It really is rather special and has a quality feel to it whilst slightly reminding me of Charlotte Tilbury packaging (which also gets a big thumbs up from me!). As for the products themselves…
The Copper Gold Rush Eyeshadow Palette has four colours – a matte light taupe shade and 3 pearl finishes in a beautiful mauve shade, a dark chocolate brown and a light beige. They’re buttery soft and the colour pay off is no disappointment either. I’m really enjoying playing around with all of the complimenting colours at the moment which can be adapted for any occasion and I can even imagine wearing this palette for my eyeshadow combination on my wedding day.
As for the Rose Lace Lipstick it’s rather moisturising but not in slightest slippery and the longevity of it is rather good too. I’m just getting back into wearing lipsticks at the moment after going off them for a while and becoming solely a tinted lip balm girl but I’ve tried using this both liberally and sparingly and both were a hit so I’m rather impressed. That said, I do wish my teeth were a little whiter as this particular shade paired with my super pale snow white complexion does emphasise that my teeth aren’t as white as I’d like. However, it doesn’t put me off wearing it in the slightest and I’m keen to get my hands on Rosie’s favourite lipstick shade – Lady Rose (in fact I’ve just sneakily added it to my basket on the M&S website along with a couple of other items from Rosie’s range – see, told you I was impressed!).
I’ll share some of the colour combinations I’ve been loving with the Copper Gold Rush Eyeshadow Palette soon so keep an eye out for more beauty posts featuring that.
