Cardigans & Cutouts In The Cotswolds

I’d not been to The Cotswolds since I was a little girl, barely old enough to remember it’s beauty. So when we got invited down we couldn’t resist squeezing in a weekend of exploring. I’ll share more about our weekend away soon but today I wanted to show these outfit photos I took whilst I was there, in front of a quaint little cottage surrounded by a stream. Silence all around except for the trickling water, the sun glaring down on me like a glistening beacon. It was that kind of peaceful perfectness that as a country girl at heart, I absolutely adore.

I spoke about this cardigan previously on my blog here, and the thing is I’m still obsessed. At only £18 from Matalan it’s a bit of a bargain too and one that I can see myself wearing for a long while to come (although maybe not in this 30 degree heat we’re currently having!). It’s such a versatile piece and sits somewhere in between a chunky knit and a thinner variation and it’s aztec boho style is right up my street. Matalan have so many nice pieces in at the moment so are definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for affordable clothing or accessories. I’ve got my eye on perhaps a few too many items at the moment if I’m honest!

I very rarely wear jeans that don’t have rips in, it’s just part of my style and although I favour some good ripped knees, these black Asos jeans have a single rip on the thigh, perfect for spicing things up a bit. The single rip means that I’m not all holes when paired with these tan coloured cutout cowboy boots from Boohoo.

As for the rest of this outfit, it’s all items from my wardrobe that get a ton of love. The simple Topshop grey vest, a H&M hat which, if I’m honest, is the only hat I own, this new Primark bag with studded guitar strap is another current obsession that has me choosing it repeatedly if the situation allows. And the necklace? Well that’s an old dragonfly pendant I was bought years ago and can’t bare to part with, the sun pendant is one I picked up from our last trip to Tenerife and they’re both hanging on a Thomas Sabo chain.
